Meet Aram Boyd

Every organization is made up of different personality types that act and respond differently to situations. However, when they work towards the same goal the results are astounding. In many ways it’s a lot like jazz.

As a jazz trumpeter Aram Boyd learned very early how the interplay of different personalities on stage affected the quality of the output and the response of the audience. He also learned how lousy it paid to be a jazz trumpeter.

However it was that first lesson on personality types that he was able to leverage into a successful sales career and a top producer. His skill and understanding of human interactions quickly had him moving from door-to-door sales to large audience presentations and then to managing large corporate accounts in Silicon Valley.

Aram’s innate understanding of the sales process, along with his ability to break it down into actionable, repeatable steps lead to a second career in training – where he lead large teams in both the private and public sectors, using the people skills he’d acquired as a top sales professional and the performance skills from music.

As a speaker, trainer and coach Aram applies the same lessons he  learned from door-to-door selling and jazz performance to help leaders and teams deliver better results.

Aram uses music as a way to make leadership and organizational development accessible to everyone. To do this he relies on two concepts from music that apply directly to business and leadership – improvisation and structure.

Boyd helps companies, teams and leaders understand the structure they work in and act more strategically within it; then improvise to complement the structure – bringing innovation and inspiration to every aspect of their work.

As a keynoter, Aram’s engaging and entertaining program on personality styles inspires audiences and gets them excited about the full program ahead.

As a leadership facilitator and executive coach, with over 30 years’ experience in corporate learning and development Aram has worked with thousands of key leaders in business, government and non-profit organizations across the country and in Japan.

Aram  holds the Certified Speaking Professional designation (CSP™). He is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Personal Styles Indicator (PSI), and is well practiced in the DiSC Personality Profile, the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Indicator, and a range of 360 Feedback tools.
